Hi! this is the solo spiritual grad student. I was born in Hyderabad, India into a Hindu family that had some basic knowledge of their faith. Though I learnt of Hindu Gods from the members of my family, I was never forced into worship or into being pious. To learn more about my faith wasn’t even a priority at home.

However, my Sanskrit classes in school have had a profound impact on me. With Sanskrit being an ancient Indian language, classes were designed to incorporate morals and lessons from ancient India. My only other influence in the context of religious philosophy was my maternal grandfather. Grandpa was a Karma yogi and a scholar of a different kind.

Regardless of what I learnt, there came a time when I saw no direction, had no alternative, and did not understand why I was so confused and lost. This testing time pushed me into introspection, triggering my attempts at soul searching and forcing me into reading the Bhagawad Gita. Though I have been hooked to the Bhagawad Gita, my understanding remains incomplete and my interpretation alters from time to time. I guess soul searching is a never-ending process.

Over the last few years, I developed a liking for photography and converted my childhood dream of being a pilgrim into a reality. I have also had the good fortune of visiting Puri Jagannath, Rameshwaram, Dwaraka, and Badrinath of the Char Dham Yatra established by Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya. His teachings on Advaita have been favourites that I attempt to read, interpret, and follow in my limited capacity.

While I am keen on learning about ancient Hindu scriptures and practices, on an average day, I am a passionate biologist pursuing my PhD hoping to contribute to the scientific community and academia.
